Overview
Fairy type (フェアリータイプ, fearī taipu) is a type in the Pokémon series. Pokémon may have one to two types, and one type is always a technique.
The affinity of the type is one of the factors that determine the advantage or disadvantage of the battle.
The fairy type is the 18th type added in Pokémon X and Y (Generation 6).
This is the first time a new type has been added to the series since the second generation's dark and steel types, so it has been four generations and approximately 14 years since the last new type was added.
