He was originally a Gargandian court magician who fought in the Millenia war, but because of a certain incident he was chased out of the capital, and finally drifted into Espada.
He established Esperanza together with his sworn ally Ricard, and currently serves as their elder and tactician. He looks after the three Raguel siblings, Ragnus, Fiona, and Julio, who lost their parents young. He usually puts on a performance as a kindly old man. He loves alcohol and pretty girls.
When he was young, he was known as a genius, but one cannot fight against the waves of time (he says), so occasionally his alchemy fails.
