Overview

Satori Komeiji (古明地こいし, Komeiji Koishi) is the owner of Palace of the Earth Spirits, a pavilion built on top of the ruins of the Old Hell. She is a youkai known as a Satori, who has the ability to read other people's minds. According to ZUN, she is "the most powerful person in this Palace of the Earth Spirits".

Because of her abilities, she is disliked by other youkai and vengeful spirits, and perhaps because she is aware of this, she dislikes contact with other people and basically lives secluded in the Palace of the Earth Spirits. On the contrary, she is well-liked by animals that cannot speak, and the Palace of the Earth Spirits is filled with them.

As such, she is often mistaken for having a timid personality, but in reality she is quite confident and has brazen nerves.

Recently, she took the lead role in the official manga Foul Detective Satori.

In doing so, she revealed a weakness: because she can even read residual thoughts, she becomes physically ill if she spends a lot of time in places with a lot of drifting thoughts.
