Overview
Shinji Ikari (碇シンジ, Ikari Shinji), born on June 6, 2001, is a 14-year-old, the exclusive pilot of the Evangelion Unit-01, and is known as the Third Child.
He was sent to live with an acquaintance when he was very young and had been living away from his parents for a long time, but one day his father, Gendo Ikari, summons him to the New Tokyo-3 City, where he is caught in the middle of a fierce battle against the Angels.
Personality
He is somewhat introspective and sensitive. He struggles with the meaning of his own existence and sometimes falls into extreme emotional instability when cornered in a severe situation.
