Overview

Suits (スーツ, sūtsu) is a set of two or more pieces of clothing made of the same cloth. In Japanese, it is also called seibo.

For men, it usually consists of a jacket, vest, and slacks (sometimes omitting the vest); for women, it usually consists of a jacket and skirt (or slacks).

The style in which a jacket and trousers made of different fabrics are worn together is called "jacket and pants (jacket pants)" rather than a suit.

Other types of suits are clothes that have a special purpose or are worn under special conditions. These include bathing suits and space suits.
