Video Game (ビデオゲーム) or Computer Game (コンピュータゲーム) is a game played using a video display device such as a monitor. The term video game is almost synonymous with computer game.
In the English speaking world, there is no word for video games, and PC games, portable game consoles, home games and arcade games are generally called video games. In Japan, until around the 1990s, arcade games were often called video games.
