Overview

Four seasons (四季, shiki) refer to the seasons of a year: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The concept of spring, summer, autumn, and winter originated in China (and the surrounding area of Zhongyuan), where the lunar New Year (January), February, and March are considered spring; April, May, and June are summer; July, August, and September are autumn; and October, November, and December are winter.
