Pokémon

Pokémon is a media franchise based around a series of collectible creatures. In Japan, it is known by the full title, "Pocket Monster"(ポケットモンスター). The term relates to the games, anime, manga, and products such as toys or cards.

History

The first set of the series, Red and Green, were released in Japan on February 27, 1996. When they came to North America (September 30, 1998), Australia (November 1, 1998), and Europe (October 8, 1999), the Green version had been renamed to Blue.
